We are joining up with the “Cares Enough to Wear Pink” campaign to help raise funds and awareness for all women and their fight against cancer. Please visit the web site www.pinkheals.com for more information about this cause.
As fire fighters we wear a blue shirt 365 days a year. We think for three days we can wear pink shirts to give a image of hope and courage to those who worry about being alone in their battle for life, and support all women in their fight against cancer, these days being the 25th, 26th and 27th of October.
We are selling a pink version of our Amarillo Fire Department duty shirts for $10 each with 50% of the proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen for the cure foundation and the other 50% going to the HarringtonCancerCenter. We will be selling these shirts throughout the month of October. If you or anyone you know wants a shirt for themselves or loved ones they can go by any fire station.
Also if any businesses want to buy shirts for their employees to wear with us on these three days as a show of support for the women in our community, please contact myself or one of the other E-Board Members.
